SnapTask ("we", "us", or "our") is a household task management app operated by PairApply. This Privacy Policy
explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use the SnapTask mobile application
and related services.
1. Data We Collect
Account Information
- Email address and display name, collected during sign-up via Firebase Authentication.
- Profile photo, if you choose to upload one.
Task Data
- Tasks you create, including titles, descriptions, due dates, tags, subtasks, and completion status.
- Photos attached to tasks, stored in Firebase Cloud Storage.
- Recurrence settings, reminders, and scheduling preferences.
Home & Membership Data
- Homes you create or join, including home names and member lists.
- Activity logs and leaderboard data within your homes.
Device & Notification Data
- Expo push notification tokens, used to deliver reminders and notifications to your device.
- Your device timezone, used to schedule notifications at the correct local time.
Usage Data
- Gamification statistics such as points, streaks, level, and achievements.
- Anonymized usage analytics to help us improve the app.
2. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to provide and improve the SnapTask service. Specifically, we use your data to:
- Manage your account and authenticate you securely.
- Store and display your tasks, homes, and activity.
- Send push notifications for task reminders, new tasks, due dates, and leaderboard resets.
- Calculate and display gamification stats (points, levels, streaks).
- Improve the app based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
3. Data Storage & Security
All data is stored securely using Google Firebase services:
- Firebase Authentication for account management.
- Cloud Firestore for structured data (tasks, homes, users).
- Cloud Storage for Firebase for task and profile images.
- Cloud Functions for server-side processing (notifications, leaderboard resets,
cleanup).
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Google Cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest. We follow
industry-standard security practices to protect your data.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your data may be shared in the
following limited circumstances:
- Within your homes — Task data and activity are visible to all members of a home you
belong to.
- Service providers — We use Firebase (Google) for infrastructure and Expo for push
notifications. These providers process data on our behalf under their respective privacy policies.
- Legal requirements — We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our legal
rights.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Notification queue entries are automatically
cleaned up after processing or expiration (typically within 7 days). Leaderboard history is retained for
members to review past results.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data through the app.
- Correct your profile information at any time.
- Delete your account and personal data via Settings → Account → Delete
Account, or by emailing us.
- Control notification preferences, including muting all notifications, quiet hours, and
per-type toggles.
- Leave any home at any time, removing your membership and leaderboard data from that
home.
7. Data Deletion
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Your user profile and authentication credentials.
- Your gamification stats (points, streaks, achievements, level).
- Your push notification tokens and notification history.
- Your membership from all homes.
- Your profile photo from Cloud Storage.
Tasks you created will remain in their respective homes for other members. For full details, see our account deletion page.
8. Children's Privacy
SnapTask is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information
from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact
us so we can delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the
app or by email. Continued use of SnapTask after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
