Privacy Policy

SnapTask ("we", "us", or "our") is a household task management application published by SnapTask. This
Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use
the SnapTask mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using SnapTask, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree
with this policy, please do not use the Service.
1. Data We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the Service:
Account Information
- Your email address and display name, collected during registration via Firebase Authentication.
- If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and name from those providers.
Profile Photo
- If you choose to upload a profile photo, it is stored in Firebase Cloud Storage.
Task Data
- Tasks you create, including titles, descriptions, due dates, tags, subtasks, recurrence settings, and completion status, stored in Cloud Firestore.
- Photos you attach to tasks, stored in Firebase Cloud Storage.
Home & Membership Data
- Homes you create or join, including home names, member lists, roles, and invite codes.
- Activity logs and leaderboard data within your homes.
Push Notification Tokens
- Expo push tokens registered on your device, used exclusively to deliver notifications you have configured.
Timezone
- Your device timezone, used to schedule notifications and display dates at the correct local time.
Gamification Data
- Points, streaks, level, achievements, and leaderboard history generated through your use of the Service.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect solely to provide, maintain, and improve the SnapTask Service. Specifically, we use your data to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you securely.
- Store, organize, and display your tasks, homes, and related content.
- Send push notifications for task reminders, new tasks, due dates, overdue alerts, and leaderboard resets.
- Calculate and display gamification statistics such as points, levels, streaks, and achievements.
- Process in-app subscription purchases through RevenueCat and the respective app stores.
- Improve the Service based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
3. Data Storage & Security
All data is stored securely using Google Firebase infrastructure:
- Firebase Authentication manages your account credentials with industry-standard encryption.
- Cloud Firestore stores your structured data (tasks, homes, user profiles) with encryption at rest.
- Firebase Cloud Storage stores task images and profile photos with encryption at rest.
- Cloud Functions handle server-side processing for notifications, leaderboard resets, and data cleanup.
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored in Google Cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest. We apply
Firestore security rules to ensure users can only access data they are authorized to view. While we
implement industry-standard security measures, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate SnapTask. Each service processes data on our behalf
under their respective privacy policies:
- Google Firebase — Authentication, database, cloud storage, cloud functions, and hosting.
- Expo — Push notification delivery via Expo push notification service.
- RevenueCat — In-app subscription management and purchase validation.
- Apple / Google — Sign-in authentication providers and app store payment processing.
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tracking services beyond basic Firebase usage statistics.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service.
Specific retention periods:
- Account and profile data are retained until you delete your account.
- Task data is retained as long as the home it belongs to exists.
- Notification queue entries are automatically cleaned up after processing or expiration (typically within 7 days).
- Leaderboard history is retained for home members to review past results.
6. Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — You can view your personal data through the app at any time.
- Correction — You can update your display name and profile photo through the Account settings.
- Deletion — You can delete your account and all associated personal data via
Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us. Upon deletion, your user profile,
authentication credentials, gamification stats, push tokens, notification history, home memberships,
and profile photo are permanently removed.
- Data Portability — You can request a copy of your personal data by contacting
us at snaptask@pairapply.dk.
- Notification Control — You can manage notification preferences, including muting
all notifications, setting quiet hours, and toggling individual notification types.
7. Children's Privacy
SnapTask is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information
from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us
with personal data, please contact us at
snaptask@pairapply.dk so we can promptly delete such
information. Users between the ages of 13 and 18 should use SnapTask with parental or guardian consent.
8. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed and stored in countries outside your country of residence, including the United
States, where Google Firebase infrastructure operates. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of
your information to these countries, which may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the
app or by email. The "Effective Date" at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
Continued use of SnapTask after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
